Terms of service

The fine print, in plain language.

Effective October 12, 2026

These terms cover how coaching with me works: booking, payments, cancellations, and what coaching is and isn't. By booking a session, buying a package, or using this website, you agree to them.

Who I am

Always Learning LLC is the coaching business of Maren Goerss, MAEd, based in Minnesota. "I," "me," and "Always Learning" mean me and my business. "You" means you.

Coaching isn't therapy or medical care. I don't diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and coaching doesn't replace a therapist, doctor, or other licensed professional. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.

What coaching is

Coaching is a partnership. I bring tools, perspective, honest questions, and support. You bring your goals and decide what to try. You're always in charge of your own choices and their results. Every brain and every family is different, so I can't promise specific outcomes.

My coaching is for adults 18 and older. If we work on parenting, I coach you, the parent, not your child directly.

Packages and formats

Coaching packages are weekly, one-on-one, and billed monthly:

  • Focus: 30 minutes a week
  • Momentum: 45 minutes a week
  • Deep Dive: 60 minutes a week

Real Time sessions happen live on Zoom. Anytime coaching happens by voice, video, or text messages through the week. I reply to Anytime messages on business days (Monday through Friday), usually within one business day. You can switch packages or formats when your life changes; just let me know.

Payment and subscriptions

  • Packages are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically on the same date each month until you cancel.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize me to charge your payment method each month.
  • If a payment fails, I'll reach out. Sessions may pause until it's sorted out.
  • If I ever change my prices, I'll tell current clients at least 30 days ahead. Founding-client pricing stays the same for as long as your subscription stays active.

Canceling your subscription

You can cancel anytime by emailing me or by using the link in your receipt. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing month, and you can keep using your sessions until then. I don't give refunds for partial months.

Rescheduling and missed sessions

  • Life happens, especially in ND families. To reschedule, use the link in your confirmation email or let me know at least 24 hours ahead.
  • Sessions missed or canceled with less than 24 hours' notice count as used. If something truly unexpected comes up, tell me. I'm human too, and I'll be reasonable.
  • I wait 10 minutes for 30-minute sessions and 15 minutes for 45- and 60-minute sessions. After that, the session counts as missed.
  • If I need to reschedule, I'll give as much notice as I can and we'll find a new time.

Free discovery calls

Discovery calls are free, with no obligation. They're a chance for us to see if we're a good fit.

Confidentiality

What you share in coaching stays between us, with a few exceptions: if I believe someone is at risk of serious harm, if a child may be experiencing abuse or neglect, or if the law requires me to share it. My Privacy Policy explains how I handle your information.

Session notes and recordings

I use Granola, an AI note-taker, during Real Time sessions. It transcribes our conversation and creates written notes, but it doesn't save an audio recording. Your notes stay confidential. If you'd rather I not use it, just tell me. Please don't record sessions yourself without asking me first.

My materials

Worksheets, guides, and other materials I share are for your personal use. Please don't sell or republish them.

When coaching isn't the right fit

Either of us can end our coaching relationship at any time. If I think you'd be better served by a therapist or another kind of support, I'll tell you honestly and help you find it.

Limits of my responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Always Learning isn't responsible for decisions you make or what happens because of them, and my total liability to you is limited to what you paid me in the three months before a claim. This website and its content are provided "as is," for general information only.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. If I update them, I'll post the new version here with a new date, and I'll let current clients know about any significant changes.
