Privacy policy

How I take care of your information.

Coaching only works when you can be honest about what's hard. So I keep what you share private, collect only what I need to run my business, and never sell your information. Here's the plain-language version of how that works.

Who I am

Always Learning LLC is the coaching business of Maren Goerss, MAEd, based in Minnesota. When this policy says "I," "me," or "Always Learning," it means me and my business. You can reach me anytime at [email protected].

What I collect

Things you give me:

• Your name, email, and phone number when you book a call, buy a package, or contact me.
• Anything you choose to share in booking forms, emails, messages, and coaching sessions, including details about your family and your child.
• Written notes and transcripts from our Real Time sessions (more on that below).
• Billing details when you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.

Things collected automatically: like most websites, my site and booking tools use cookies and similar technology to keep things working and to show me basic, anonymous stats, such as how many people visited a page. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.

How I use it

• To schedule, run, and follow up on your coaching sessions.
• To send booking confirmations, reminders, receipts, and replies to your questions.
• To manage payments and your subscription.
• To send occasional updates or helpful content if you've signed up for them. You can unsubscribe anytime.
• To keep my business running smoothly, meet my legal and tax obligations, and keep things secure.

Text messages

If you give me your phone number and agree to texts, I may text you about appointments, reminders, and your coaching. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time.

I don't sell or share your phone number or text-messaging consent with anyone for their marketing.

What stays between us

What you share in coaching stays confidential. I don't share it with anyone without your permission. The exceptions are when I believe someone is at risk of serious harm, when a child may be experiencing abuse or neglect, or when the law requires me to share it.

Session notes

During Real Time sessions, I use Granola, an AI note-taker, so I can focus on you instead of typing. Granola transcribes our conversation and creates written notes. It doesn't save an audio recording. The transcript and notes are stored securely and kept confidential like everything else you share. AI companies aren't allowed to train their models on them. If you'd rather I not use it, just tell me.

Who helps me run things

I use a small set of trusted tools to run my business. They only get the information they need to do their job:

• AttractZen (built on HighLevel), for my website, booking calendars, contact records, and emails.
• Stripe, for payments.
• Zoom, for Real Time sessions.
• Granola, for session notes.
• Google Workspace, for email, calendar, and documents.
• A messaging app you choose (such as Voxer or Marco Polo), for Anytime coaching.

Each of these companies has its own privacy policy. I may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

I never sell your personal information.

How long I keep it

I keep your information while we're working together and for as long as I need it afterward for records, taxes, and legal reasons. After that, I delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.

Your choices

You can ask me to show you the information I have about you, fix anything that's wrong, or delete it, including your session notes. Email [email protected] and I'll take care of it. I may need to keep some records, like payment history, when the law requires it.

Keeping it safe

I use reputable, secure tools and take reasonable steps to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but I take this seriously.

Kids

My coaching is for adults. I don't knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you're a parent and tell me about your child in coaching, I treat that with the same care and confidentiality as everything else you share.

Changes

If I update this policy, I'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, I'll let current clients know.
