It started with a dog. Five years ago.
Although though we were already feeling overwhelmed by parenting four neurodiverse kids, homeschooling, and juggling our budget on a single salary, we had a feeling a pet could be good for our family.
Then it turned into a dog plus a hamster, then a cat. And now another cat. I guess we’re a pet family now.
Pets can be the perfect body double if you have ADHD.
What’s a body double?
Well, someone who is in your presence while you get something done or helps you relax.
Body doubles are: judgment-free can be cuddly, but not necessarily patient quiet supportive, in that subtle, quiet way calming.
Do you have pet or something/someone else who is a great body double in your family?
